Diane Grieco

Having graduated from Mount Holyoke College in 1966 as a young woman who chose not to take studio art classes because they didn’t seem serious enough, I proceeded through marriage, family, and divorce by age 42. Wise friends observed my lifestyle choices, and steered me down a path which led to mural work in historic homes, monthly pilgrimages to the art galleries and museums of New York City, and a moment when the possibility of pursuing a career in art glowed before me like the proverbial lightbulb in the sky.

Graduating from New England School of Art and Design in 1993, I have maintained a continuous studio practice - first at King Terminal Studios in South Boston, then as a founding member of Off Broadway Studios, and now with OH Studios at 60 Island Street, Lawrence, MA.

Since 1997, I have done decorative painting on the ceilings and walls of over 120 Cheesecake Factory Restaurants domestically and abroad. It was a particular pleasure to paint gold stars on Memorial Hall Library’s entryway ceiling, and the first stanza of “America” upstairs in Memorial Hall Itself.  Art education has proven to be a seriously varied, long-term endeavor.
